Mr. Hamman has an emphasis in litigation of high exposure civil and business claims including wrongful death, workplace violence, premises liability and amusement rides and devices.
Experience prior to SBG
He worked at a boutique litigation firm in Chicago IL where he specialized in a wide variety of high-exposure claims, including construction defects and injuries, products and medical device liability, premises liability and toxic tort litigation. He also served as associate national coordinating counsel for sexual abuse claims for one of the nations largest nonprofit entities, as well as participating in the successful direct defense of multiple sexual abuse claims.
Mr. Hamman received his J.D. from the University of Missouri- Kansas City School of Law in 2005.
Special achievements, recognitions or accolades
While a law student, he served first as a Justice, then as Chief Justice of the UMKC Honor Court, hearing cases involving alleged breaches of the UMKC Academic Honor Code. He was a member of UMKC’s National Mock Trial team, which finished in the top-10 of the ALTA Student Trial Competition. He was a winner of the Thomas E. Deacy Trial Lawyer Award, given annually to the top trial advocate at the school and is a member of the Order of Barristers.
Mr. Hamman is licensed to practice law in all state courts in Missouri and Illinois and is admitted to practice before the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and the Northern District of Illinois.
