Mr.
Ghertner joined the firm in 2001 having previously been Managing
Director, President and Chairman of the Board of the law firm of
Field, Gentry & Benjamin, P.C. His practice has been devoted
primarily to litigation, trial and appellate practice with an emphasis
in the areas of product liability, personal injury, civil litigation,
insurance defense and coverage disputes, business litigation, medical
malpractice and condemnation. He is also a certified
mediator in dispute resolution matters in the state and federal
courts. Mr. Ghertner entered the private practice of law in 1974
after serving as the law clerk to the Honorable David J. Dixon, Chief
Judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District. |

Mr.
Ghertner is a member of the International Association of Defense
Counsel, the Defense Research Institute and has served as an
instructor at trial related seminars. Mr. Ghertner has
been engaged extensively in civic work throughout his career and his
current board memberships include being a Trustee of the Missouri
Repertory Theatre, a Director of the Carolyn Benton Cockefair Advisory
Board at the University of Missouri at Kansas City and a Director of
Wildwood Outdoor Education Center. He was formerly President and
Director of the New Reform Temple.
Mr.
Ghertner received his undergraduate degree from the University of
Colorado at Boulder in 1968 and his law degree from the University of
Missouri in 1972. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and has
been admitted to practice before the United States Court of Claims,
the United States District Court for Western and Eastern Missouri and
Southern Illinois, the District Court of Kansas, the U.S. District
Court of Kansas and the Circuit Courts of Madison County and St. Clair
County, Illinois.
