Mr. Horn has been with the firm for his
entire legal career which began in 1987. He has concentrated his
practice in the areas of commercial litigation and employment law. In
the employment law area, he has considerable experience representing
employers and claimants in proceedings before the Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance
Programs, the Department of Labor-Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA), the Missouri Human Rights Commission and the
Kansas Commission on Human Rights, as well as state and federal courts
in Missouri and Kansas. |

Those proceedings include claims arising out of Title VII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1991, Executive Order No.
11246, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with
Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Employee
Retirement Income Security Act, the Occupational Safety and Health
Act, the Missouri Human Rights Act, and the Kansas Act Against
Discrimination. His responsibilities have also included assisting
clients in the formation and review of employment forms and handbooks,
and providing guidance to employers on a wide range of issues
including minimum wage, overtime pay, child labor, and drug testing.
In the commercial litigation
area, Mr. Horn has represented clients with respect to contract
disputes, trade secrets, lender liability and insurance contracts. He
is also experienced in the areas of professional malpractice, products
liability and general tort litigation. Recently, he has also become
active in the emerging field of Qui Tam ("whistle blower") litigation.
Mr. Horn received his
undergraduate and law degrees respectively in 1984 and 1987 from the
University of Missouri at Columbia, where he was a member of the
University of Missouri Law Review. Mr. Horn is a member of the
Missouri Bar.
