Mr. Lasley has a broad legal
practice, but concentrates primarily in the areas of estate planning,
probate administration, and elder care law. He particularly enjoys
working with the "sandwich" generation in helping them cope with the
demands involved in caring for their aging parents’ medical and
financial needs.
He has been a lecturer in the
estate planning field, and is the primary author of Chapter 17 "Will
Contests" contained in the book Estate Administration published by the
Missouri Bar CLE. |

Mr. Lasley also
has a substantial practice in corporate law and real estate law. For
the City of Mission Hills, Kansas, he has been a member of the City
Planning Commission, the Chairman of the Board of Zoning Appeals, and
a City Councilman.
Most recently, he has become
very active in the emerging field of Medicare Fraud Qui Tam
litigation. This involves employees in the medical industry, who have
witnessed their employer committing Medicare fraud, and who, under the
False Claims Act, become a "whistle blower" and sue the employer on
behalf of the United States for Medicare fraud.
Mr. Lasley was admitted to
practice in Missouri in 1978 and is also admitted before the United
States District Courts for Missouri and Kansas. He received his Juris
Doctor from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1978 where he
also received his Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1975, Phi
Kappa Phi.
