Mr.
Mueller has been with the firm his entire legal career, beginning in
1976. His areas of emphasis have been in real estate transactions,
estate planning, probate and trust administration, financial and
business planning and taxation. Mr. Mueller has extensive experience
in drafting of wills and trusts, and has a thorough knowledge of
related tax areas, including fiduciary income taxes, federal estate
taxes, generation skipping transfer taxes and gift taxes. One area of
particular emphasis in Mr. Mueller’s practice has been income and
estate taxation of qualified plan and IRA distributions, and the
protection of such distributions from taxation. |

Another large segment of Mr. Mueller’s practice has
involved the sale, leasing and financing of real estate. Mr. Mueller
has extensive experience in the drafting of commercial leases,
purchase and sale contracts and financing documents. He was the lead
outside attorney for the Resolution Trust Company in several national
sales of real estate, and was involved in the contract, title work,
survey, environmental investigation, closing and financing for several
hundred properties located in more than thirty states.
Mr. Mueller has been continually active in his
church, having served as a deacon, elder and chairman of numerous
committees. He has been active and served on the Boards of community
civic organizations.
Mr. Mueller received his
undergraduate degree from Carleton College in 1973 and his law degree
from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law in 1976,
and is a member of the Missouri Bar.
