Mr. Wilkins received his
undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in 1969 and his law
degree from Washburn University School of Law, Cum Laude, in 1973,
where he served as the Vice President of the Student Bar Association
and was on the Board of Editors for the Law Journal. In 1976, Mr.
Wilkins completed the Government Contracting course at the University
of Virginia. He is a member of the Kansas and Missouri Bars and is an
inactive member of the Minnesota Bar. In addition to the state courts,
Mr. Wilkins is admitted to practice in the United States District
Courts for Kansas and Missouri and the United States Circuit Court of
Appeals for the 10th and the 8th Circuits. |

He has served on the legal committees of the American Meat Institute
and the Agricultural Chemical Manufacturers Association and was a
Captain in the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Wilkins joined the firm in 2000 with a broad range of experience.
From 1973 to 1975 he was employed as an Estate and Gift Tax attorney
for the Internal Revenue Service in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During
1975 and 1976 he was the Assistant Regional Counsel for the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1976 he left the
government service and became the General Counsel for Farmland Foods,
Inc. and Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary
for Farmland Industries, Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Wilkins
has been in private practice since 1987. He has extensive experience
in litigation and the trial of complex matters in the areas of
commercial transactions, environmental law, antitrust, products
liability, construction, personal injury, insurance coverage,
professional liability, premises liability and all areas of employment
law. He has represented major national clients in the states of Kansas
and Missouri, and has worked on international commercial transactions
in the Middle East and Europe.
